About the Role:
We’re looking for a passionate, community-focused Indigenous Partnerships Specialist to strengthen and grow Whistler Blackcomb’s relationship with the Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) and Lil̓wat7úl (Lil’wat Nation). In this role, you’ll help implement our MDA Umbrella Agreement, focusing on employment, training, cultural sharing, recreation, and contracting opportunities.
You’ll serve as a dedicated liaison, helping ensure our commitment to meaningful partnerships is upheld across the resort while fostering a workplace that is inclusive and supportive for Indigenous Peoples.
Job Specifications:
- Starting Wage: $65,000 - $85,000 + annual bonus
- Employment Type: Year Round
- Shift Type: Full Time hours available
- Housing Availability: Yes
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementing strategies to align training programs with employment opportunities.
- Promoting job awareness through community engagement.
- Supporting recruitment, mentorship, and retention of Indigenous employees.
- Educating employees on Squamish Nation and Lil’wat Nation cultures.
- Exploring procurement and contracting opportunities with Indigenous businesses.
- Facilitating recreational opportunities for Indigenous youth and broader community members.
- Promoting cultural sharing and participation in events.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong ties with the Squamish Nation and Lil’wat Nation.
- Education or training in Human Resources, project management, or a related field is an asset
- Indigenous relations, business development, Human Resources
- 3-5 years of supervisor/leadership experience
- A valid BC drivers license
- Proficient in outlook and Microsoft systems
- Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised
- Project management, community relations and engagement, program development, strong verbal and written communication skills
