Position Summary:
The Decision Support Analyst supports the organization's information and analytics needs by providing high-quality data analysis and reporting to inform clinical and operational decision-making. Reporting to the Director of IT and Innovation, the Analyst is responsible for analyzing, interpreting, and presenting clinical and statistical information related to quality, utilization, wait lists, benchmarking, forecasting, clinical indicators, and workforce metrics. This role contributes to evidence-based decision-making, strategic planning, and continuous improvement across clinical and non-clinical teams. The Analyst is also responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and maintenance of data infrastructure and clinical databases. They provide user support, training, and access administration to ensure effective use of data systems. In addition, the role supports the development and monitoring of balanced scorecard metrics, quality reporting, and ministry submissions, as well as other reports required by program management, senior leadership, and the Board.
Qualifications & Experience:
- University or college degree in health sciences, health informatics/information management, business administration, information technology or a related field is required
- 2 to 3 years of experience working in performance measurement or decision support is preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications including Excel (pivot tables, formulas, etc.), MSSQL DB (build tables, write queries, generate reports), MS Teams, PowerPoint and business intelligence (BI) tools
- Experience with the extraction and manipulation of data using structured query language (i.e. SQL, Python)
- Well-developed abilities in data analysis and report generation
- Previous experience in Mental Health and Addictions or healthcare setting is an asset
- Certification with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) is an asset
- Prior experience with clinical datasets, data submission and reporting tools (e.g., CIHI, HIT, IAR, SHIIP, Catalyst, OPOC, etc.)
- Prior experience in a clinical information system, particularly EMHware
- Knowledge of health care reporting requirements (e.g. OHRS and MIS guidelines)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical, strategic planning and execution skills
- Demonstrated ability to balance multiple and competing priorities daily
- Must possess a valid Ontario Driver’s License and have regular access to a reliable vehicle and provide proof of adequate vehicle insurance.
- Required to provide a satisfactory criminal reference check (CRC) and Vulnerable Sector prior to hire.
