Ready for tomorrow: We want to enable your success through interesting and challenging work, performance enablement, and learning and development.
About the Role
Shape Your Community: Lead a New Branch!
ATB Financial is on the lookout for a dynamic and innovative Branch Manager to lead one of our brand-new branches. This isn't just a job; it's an exciting opportunity to build something from the ground up, drive success, and deeply embed yourself within the community you serve.
At ATB, we run our branches like they're our own businesses, giving you direct responsibility for increasing revenues and profitability. We believe in pushing the limits of standard banking practices and thoroughly re-imagining customer experiences. If you're bold, creative, and ready to lead, this is the role for you!
As ATB’s next Branch Manager, you are a leader and innovator in the community. You're a creative problem solver with an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for making a difference through your work. This exciting role demands a growth mindset to develop and implement new and better ways of doing things. You’ll be instrumental in pursuing new personal and business relationships, supporting balanced growth and diversified income. Moreover, you’ll be a mentor who supports both the personal development and operational competency of your team. It is absolutely crucial that you are deeply involved in the local community to build strong partnerships and cultivate a thriving book of business.
Accountabilities
As a Branch Manager, you will:
- Strategically grow your customer base: Expand market reach by understanding local demographics, analyzing trends, and executing plans to attract new customers through targeted campaigns, community events, and partnerships.
- Proactively engage with the community and clients to seek out and convert new business opportunities: Be a visible and active community member, attending events, joining organizations, and networking to identify promising leads, present solutions, and close deals that contribute to profitability and market share.
- Empower and guide your team by hiring, coaching, and developing staff across all business lines: Cultivate a high-performing team through strategic recruitment, ongoing coaching, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative environment, directly impacting team effectiveness and morale.
- Cultivate strong relationships with existing customers, colleagues, and the community, demonstrating an ability to identify and nurture talent in others: Foster enduring connections with customers, collaborate with colleagues, and leverage community relationships for business development and identifying/nurturing emerging talent.
- Inspire and drive your team to achieve outstanding results: Set clear expectations, articulate a compelling vision, and empower your team to reach ambitious targets, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Work effectively with diverse individuals to accomplish shared goals: Collaborate with diverse individuals internally and externally, leveraging varied talents and viewpoints to foster innovation, solve challenges, and achieve shared strategic goals, ensuring an inclusive and successful environment.
Skills, Experience & Requirements
Skills and Competencies:
- In an ever-evolving business landscape, you exhibit exceptional agility and adaptability, thriving within fast-paced environments where challenges are met with innovative solutions and quick pivots. Your communication prowess is undeniable; both your verbal and written expressions are powerful tools that inspire, engage, and rally stakeholders towards shared objectives.
- A master of connection, you possess impressive negotiation and relationship-building skills, crucial for cultivating enduring partnerships and fostering a collaborative ecosystem. Your leadership qualities are not just apparent, but undeniably strong and proven through experience, consistently guiding your teams to unparalleled levels of excellence and achievement.
- You have a strong history of forging strong, collaborative relationships, demonstrating effectiveness whether connecting virtually or in person. Furthermore, you are remarkably adept at pioneering new initiatives, demonstrating a unique talent for building high-performing teams from their beginning stages.
- Beyond professional acumen, your deep passion for community engagement is evident. You possess an intricate understanding of local needs and dynamics, leveraging this insight to drive meaningful impact and foster strong community ties.
Experience and Education:
- 3-5 years of leadership experience, preferably in retail banking or commercial lending.
- Proven experience in community engagement initiatives is a strong asset.
- Experience opening new branch locations, particularly in banking, is an asset.
- Post-secondary education in business, commerce, or equivalent financial training or experience.
Ready to embark on this incredible journey with ATB Financial? If you're a community builder, a strategic thinker, and a passionate leader, we want to hear from you! Apply today and help us redefine banking in Alberta.
Don’t meet all the requirements on the list?
A resume only goes so far in expressing who you are and the unique perspectives you bring. If you believe your skills and experience align with the role—but you might not check all the boxes—we want to hear from you. We encourage candidates from all work backgrounds, equity-seeking communities and experience levels to apply. If you’re seeking a career where your drive, perspective and growth are celebrated, we want to hear from you.
We’re dedicated to building a workforce reflective of those within our communities, and a culture where our team members are equipped with what they need to succeed—their way. Part of creating an inclusive workplace is recognizing our role in advancing Truth and Reconciliation. We are committed to meeting and exceeding the standards set out in the Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations program created by the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business.
