Role Summary And Purpose
- Research and analyse data for contingency team to support underwriting capabilities on a risk by risk and portfolio basis.
- Develop management information (MI) to provide visibility of the contingency underwriting account and provide insight to the underwriters to improve profitability of the portfolio.
- Complete project work to provide underwriters with tools to more accurately and more quickly price risks.
Key Tasks And Responsibilities
- Perform important data research function to support team decision making.
- Build functional databases and underwriter interface to allow service driven, consistent underwriting across the team.
- Liaise with actuarial team to develop underwriting models for key sub-classes.
- Ensure data is maintained and updated.
- Help build a market leading team based on quality of underwriting and high service levels.
Role Requirements & Skills Skills / Competencies
- Excellent data mining and research capabilities across of wide range of topics
- Competent with Power BI
- Strong knowledge of database structures and front-end user interfaces for interrogation
- Actuarial training or competency would be important. Accuracy and eye for detail
- Strong understanding of excel and other similar tools.
- Good personality and the ability to communicate easily with people
- Likes to be challenged
