YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Mine Assistant General Supervisor, you will be part of the Mine Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Coordinate and lead the operation of the Mine Automation system;
- Expand the functionality of the Sandvik Automine project;
- Implement, deploy and support technology improvement initiatives in the Underground Mine department, as per the Mine Intelligence Mine Control Center’s needs and requirements;
- Ensure availability of trained operators to support the operation of the automation systems;
- Plan, support and sustain the expansion of the Automation Systems (new equipment, levels, procurement and plans) as needed;
- Create and update procedures, training material and other documents related to Automation and technology projects;
- Ensure safety features of the projects are implemented and in place;
- Ensure safe operation of the Automation processes;
- Generate daily, weekly and monthly Automation Performance Reports identifying the highlights, problems encountered and upcoming work;
- Work in collaboration with the Operations Supervisors and Underground Mine General Supervisors to ensure the system is safely deployed and that the Underground production crews, electrical and mobile department are aware of all activities;
- Compile the major delays and troubleshoot problems;
- Coordinate with suppliers for troubleshooting issues and project expansion;
- Perform all other duties as requested by the UG mine supervision team.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering, a Technical Diploma, 5 years in underground mine operations or planning may be considered;
- Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of efficient mining practices, procedures and regulations;
- Demonstrated experience in project management;
- Practical knowledge of Deswik suite of software;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Note that the official working language at Meliadine is English.
Your Work Schedule:
- Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
