About the role

Description Finance / Full time / Toronto / Co-op Internship / In-office role / Fall 2025 Team: The Wealth Management Programs & Portfolio Advisory Services team (“PPAS” Team) is a key contributor to the overall success of iA Private Wealth. The PPAS team works with advisors to encourage the use of a model-based approach within the investment management part of their practice and supports the resources and platforms and that underpin this, including the fee-based platform, the discretionary platform and the legacy SMA/Elite UMA platforms.

The PPAS team’s Summer Associate will act as a supporting team member assisting with the team’s day-to-day tasks. These tasks will include, and are not limited to, business development support, research generation, trading support, content management, and other duties as assigned.

Accountabilities Business Development Support and Research Generation

  • Support senior members of the PPAS team with portfolio construction, and sales support to drive adoption of the Elite UMA
  • Utilize investment tools, such as Morningstar Direct and Bloomberg to support senior members of the PPAS team during their conversations with sales professionals
  • Contribute to asset allocation discussions and investment model portfolio strategy, oversight, and execution
  • Support senior members of the PPAS team with the development of thought leadership and market insights
  • Prepare and disseminate pre-opening market research notes for advisors, delivering timely and insightful updates on capital markets

Trading support

  • Assist in identifying and addressing trading errors and omissions.
  • Provide administrative support after a model change has been made.
  • Update trading models on Croesus.
  • Assist in managing third-party SMA trading.
  • Review SMA accounts for new deposits.
  • Classify new securities based on fee eligibility, asset class, and regional exposure.

Content management

  • Help manage site design and ongoing changes and improvements.
  • Distribute daily, monthly, and quarterly research reports and other material.
  • Review and update published documents regularly to guarantee accuracy and completeness.
  • Share ideas about how material can be improved and presented.

Knowledge, Experience And Skills Education:

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate program (Finance, Investment).
  • Must complete a university-accredited internship in Fall 2025.

Knowledge:

  • Some knowledge of the wealth management/asset management industries is an asset.
  • Financial market and economic news.
  • Investment products and market trends.
  • Knowledge of UMA (an asset).

Skills:

  • Strong team player and willingness to grow.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to think analytically.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel and Bloomberg skills.
  • Well organized and attention to detail.

  • Must be available to work solely from the Toronto office.
