PREP Cook required in Peterborough
As a Prep Cook, you will be an integral part of our kitchen team, utilizing your core skills in food preparation, cooking, and food handling to ensure high-quality meals are consistently delivered to our guests. Your experience in the restaurant and kitchen industry, along with your knowledge of food safety practices, will be essential in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Possessing a Food Handler Certification showcases your commitment to excellence and adherence to industry standards. Join our team and showcase your expertise in creating delicious dishes and contributing to the success of our culinary operations. Preference will be given to individuals who are certified or completion of Culinary Management, Red Seal, or Cook 1&2 from a recognized institution; and/or have successfully completed their Food Handlers Certificate from Public Health Unit and is current; Vaccination. Police check and TB testing required.
Reporting to the Chef Manager -
- DUTIES include: Prepping and preparing all meal items as outlined in 4 week cyclic menu, general sanitation of cooks area- garbage removal, light sweeping/mopping; receiving and putting away food deliveries,
- Must be able to read, write and accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must demonstrate proper food preparation and presentation
- Must be knowledgeable of special and/or therapeutic diets
- Must be physically able to lift and transfer low-heavy hot items, and stand for majority of shift.
- Must be able to work accurately, quickly, and safely.
- Must be an effective team player that works well with others.
- Must be able to work and communicate effectively
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $17.70 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Peterborough, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:

Licence/Certification:
- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (required)
