SALARY: Class 2 – $22.41/hour
SCHEDULE:
- Permanent full-time positions: 33 hours per week on variable schedules
- Permanent part-time positions: 15 hours per week on variable schedules
- On-call positions (reserve staff): Up to 40 hours per week depending on your availability (no guarantee of hours)
WORK MODE: In-person
The challenges that await you
As a loan attendant, you will help make the library welcoming and an essential living space for citizens. You will perform various tasks including, among others, lending and returning documents, shelving books, managing subscriptions, and providing information to citizens on various library-related topics, including opening hours, activity schedules, addresses of other libraries, etc.
The ideal profile for us
- Have completed high school diploma (DES);
- Have one (1) year of relevant experience in customer service requiring direct contact with the public;
- Have an interest in literature and general culture;
- Have a perfect command of French, both spoken and written, and a functional mastery of English (an asset);
- Be comfortable with computers and new technologies, including digital reading devices;
- Have a good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite;
- Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills and be a good team player;
- Be able to work under pressure, respond adequately to unforeseen situations, and demonstrate great adaptability.
