About the role
Access Central Addiction Medicine Physician (200-1656)
The successful candidate will provide Addiction Medicine services to clients across the Island Health.
Access Central involves clinical assessment, triage and service matching for a variety of substance use services, including withdrawal management, stabilization, treatment and recovery, supportive recovery, and outpatient services.
Physician should have recent experience in medical withdrawal management and OAT prescribing ability in BC.
The successful candidate, as part of the multidisciplinary Access Central Substance Use team, will collaborate closely with medical and operational leadership, Nursing, Social Work, Indigenous Clinicians, Indigenous Support Workers and individuals with lived experience.
Island Health is affiliated with the UBC Faculty of Medicine Island Medical Program, and the successful candidate will be required to provide teaching and training to medical students and residents. A clinical faculty appointment at UBC will be required, and assistance in applying for a faculty appointment can be provided.
