Your Team:
Join Flair’s Maintenance team as a Records and Planning Technician, where precision, organization, and regulatory knowledge are essential to supporting safe and efficient aircraft operations. Reporting to the Maintenance Planning Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining aircraft records, coordinating scheduled maintenance for aircraft, engines, and components, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements through advanced maintenance tracking systems. In this role, you'll play a key part in keeping our fleet airworthy and compliant while supporting the day-to-day planning of maintenance activities. The position requires a high level of accuracy, independence, and the ability to manage physical tasks when needed. Some travel and shift work, including evenings or weekends, may be required depending on operational needs.
This position is based on-site at our Calgary, AB office.
A Day in the Life:
As a Records and Planning Technician, you will:
- Review and validate aircraft time, cycle data, and utilization records.
- Collect and review aircraft flight logs, maintenance logs, and maintenance work packages.
- Audit data entries for accuracy; identify and correct discrepancies to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and time-limited maintenance requirements.
- Record maintenance actions in the maintenance tracking system and update aircraft and major component logbooks accordingly.
- Organize, file, and maintain both hard copy and digital maintenance records, including line and heavy maintenance visit packages and part certifications.
- Prepare documentation for lessor inspections, including certificate packages and data retrieved from the maintenance tracking system.
- Generate forecasted maintenance reports to support planning and compliance.
- Coordinate and schedule all planned and requested maintenance, ensuring operational limits are not exceeded.
- Compile and prepare inspection packages and associated indexes.
- Ensure availability of personnel, parts, and special equipment for scheduled maintenance activities.
- Liaise with Flight Operations to coordinate aircraft positioning for maintenance.
- Communicate with contracted Aircraft Maintenance Organizations (AMOs) to confirm availability of manpower, parts, tools, and ensure timely completion of work packages.
- Support line maintenance planning as needed by printing and distributing 14-day forecasts and work packages to line maintenance bases; plan or replan MELs as requested by MCC.
- Report any findings, discrepancies, or feedback to the maintenance planning team.
- Assist with hangar planning and coordination as required.
What You Bring to the Role:
The preferred candidate should exemplify Flair's core values of respect, honesty, accountability, and efficiency while demonstrating success in previous roles. Additionally, we are seeking individuals who possess:
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., technical, aviation, or sciences) is preferred.
- Experience:
- Prior experience in aircraft technical records and/or maintenance planning is required.
- Experience using AMOS or other maintenance tracking systems is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), particularly as they apply to 705 operations, is an asset.
- Knowledge of aircraft parts and components is preferred.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel (intermediate level).
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective time management and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with various stakeholders.
- Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships.
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and within a team setting.
- Physically able to lift 40–50 lbs; heavy lifting is required.
- Willing and able to work irregular hours or rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to travel occasionally, sometimes on short notice, as operational needs require.
- Requirements:
- Clear criminal record check and satisfactory references.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.
