A Teaching Chef's job duties include demonstrating the proper techniques to prepare food, showing students how to use kitchen equipment, and teaching a variety of recipes. You may also develop lesson plans and collaborate with other teachers.
LA Matheson Secondary is an Inner City caring Community School with various programs of student support including Junior Humanities and Year-long Math/Science, podded grade 8 & 9 programs, Applied Skills and Fine Arts (Band, Drama, Dance and Art Integration) programs, Co-op/Career Education Embedded SFU PDP (Student Teacher program) and Teacher lead PLC's that focuses on collaboration and learning. The school embraces leading edge assessment practices and communicating student learning teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Education (Elementary or Secondary) degree, or equivalent training
- Valid BC Teaching Certificate
- Red Seal Certification required*

Salary range is $59,711 to $109,520, with placement on the range based on length of service, FTE and qualifications in accordance with the Collective Agreement. In the event the 2025 Salary Grid is made available the current grid will be updated.
