The Senior Analyst, Pricing & Business Intelligence will play a pivotal role in supporting the enhancement of Loblaw’s Supply Chain as a Service programs, such as customer pickup (CPU), freight as a service (FaaS), warehouse as a service (WaaS) and freight forwarding as a service, through strategic pricing, proactive analytics, and business intelligence initiatives. This role supports a high-growth and transformation-oriented environment and will help shape how Loblaw leverages data to improve transportation network utilization, profitability, and operational performance.
The successful candidate will be trusted with driving insights, maintaining pricing tools, collaborating across departments, and helping lead the shift toward proactive reporting, business growth, and margin-focused decision-making.
What You’ll Do:
Pricing Strategy & Execution
- Support pricing development ensuring rates are market-aligned, business growth, margin-optimized, and operationally feasible.
- Maintain and enhance pricing models and tools, incorporating accessorial logic and cost-to-serve principles.
- Analyze lane-level profitability and recommend adjustments to pricing strategy based on cost, revenue, network strategy, and utilization metrics.
- Partner with Transportation Ops, Planning, and Finance teams to ensure pricing reflects actual cost structures and delivery requirements.
Business Intelligence & Reporting
- Create and manage dashboards and reporting tools that proactively highlight opportunities and performance gaps.
- Lead the design and implementation of sales pipeline, rates and profitability dashboards, incorporating revenue per load/opportunity, cost per load, network imbalance coverage, and win/loss performance metrics.
- Support development of monthly market intelligence reports including market trends, benchmarks, and strategic insights.
Cross-Functional Engagement
- Collaborate with the operations and Business Development team to support proposal development and pricing negotiations.
- Contribute to customer onboarding and ongoing support with pricing clarity and strategic rationale.
- Work with Procurement, Finance, Planning, and Operations to integrate pricing decisions into contracts and carrier management processes.
Systems & Process Optimization
- Support integration of pricing processes within systems like Trimble, BlueYonder, and SAP.
- Recommend and implement improvements to the existing and future pricing tools to enhance automation, reduce administrative burden, and increase accuracy.
- Ensure that all rate changes are tracked and documented within the pre-agreed pricing dashboard and transportation systems.
What You Bring:
- 3–5+ years of experience in pricing, finance, supply chain analytics, or transportation operations.
- Advanced Excel/Power BI skills; experience with SQL, or Power Query is a plus.
- Strong business acumen with a focus on cost/margin analysis and profitability tracking.
- Experience with TMS systems (e.g., JDA, Trimble TruckMate) and customer negotiations is an asset.
- Ability to thrive in a matrixed environment, balancing short-term deliverables with strategic goals.
- Excellent communication skills to convey data-driven insights to non-technical stakeholders.
