BURNCO Rock Products Ltd has a fantastic opportunity for an Operations Support Analyst – Aggregates out of our corporate headquarters in Calgary, Alberta. You will report to our Director of IT Business Solutions, and work closely with our internal key stakeholders in IT, Finance, as well as our lines of business (Asphalt, Aggregate).

As an Operations Support Analyst you will play a crucial role in supporting the Aggregate and Asphalt front end systems. This role will be responsible for monitoring and support of the current systems, tracking and resolution on any incidents, system maintenance which includes updates, patches, and upgrades.

What You Will Be Doing

How we see your role breaking down:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams such as Operations and Finance to understand their needs and processes.

  • Monitoring and support of systems to ensure they are running smoothly; this includes troubleshooting issues that arise and providing timely resolutions to issues.

  • Managing of the incidents for the Aggregate and Asphalt systems. This includes identifying the root cause, coordinating with various teams for resolution, and documenting the incident for future reference.

  • Performing routine maintenance tasks such as updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure systems are secure and up to date.

  • User support providing technical support to end users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, answering queries, and assisting with system access and permissions.

  • Identifying inefficiencies in current processes and suggesting improvements to streamline operations and enhance productivity.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of processes, procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity.

  • Ensuring that operations comply with regulatory requirements and security standards. This includes monitoring access controls, data protection measures, and implementing security best practices.

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose problems efficiently and provide effective solutions.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors.

  • Attention to detail with a focus on maintaining comprehensive documentation.

  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

  • Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and proactively seek opportunities for process improvement and optimization.

  • Self-motivated individual with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous learning.

Experience/Technical Skills/Knowledge

  • 3-5+ years experience within a Operations Support Analyst capacity

  • Understanding and familiarity with applications such as Apex, OnBase, and Command are also seen as valuable assets.

  • Experience in the Construction Materials industry is an asset

Education/Certification/Designation

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar quantitative disciplines. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
