About the role
Description Under the responsibility of the Director, Regulatory Compliance and the direction of the Manager, Complaints, Regulatory Investigations and Policy, the incumbent is responsible for assessing and making recommendations related to privacy matters.
Duties include:
- Assessing, analyzing, investigating and documenting privacy incidents and complaints in accordance with policies and procedures;
- Reviewing and making recommendations on privacy impact assessments for corporate initiatives;
- Keeping current on federal and provincial privacy laws, practices and trends;
- Assisting in drafting privacy policies and procedures and related documentation and forms;
- Assisting in drafting and reviewing privacy training materials;
- Preparing privacy reports for the iAPW Board and Privacy Officer;
- Participating in privacy projects and making recommendations to management;
- Assisting the Regulatory Compliance team with other matters as needed.
Qualifications:
- College diploma (DEC in Quebec) or university degree
- 3 or more years of experience in a similar privacy role
- Experience working at a securities dealer is an asset for the role
- Knowledge of federal and provincial privacy laws in Canada, including Law 25 in Quebec and Bill C-27
- Familiarity with privacy risk management and compliance and ability to understand privacy policies and procedures and provide guidance on related matters
- Strong organization and analytical skills
- Advanced level of English and Intermediate level of French, both spoken and written, as the person will be required to communicate either in person or via email with English and French-speaking colleagues and internal partners across Canada on a daily basis.
