About the role
Serves as a subject matter expert and face of the Nutrition Resource Centre (NRC) for healthcare customers and GFS employees within designated region, on anything relating to institutional food service. The Regional RD would be the liaison and champion of customer needs within GFS by developing and utilizing tools to support customers.
Location:
The successful candidate must be able to commute to either the Milton or Ajax Distribution Center, as required. This position also involves occasional travel for meetings, training sessions, or customer visits.

Essential Functions:
- Customer consultations and supports in their food service operation through the use of NRC tools and resources.
- Developments and enhancements of NRC tools and services to meet customer needs.
- Point of contact for NRC regarding any regional sales scenarios: pitches, bids, food shows, etc.
- Helps increase sales efficiency through the promotion and training on NRC tools and activities.
- Shares and disseminates knowledge across GFS business units and divisions to improve best-practices.
- Leads Cycle Menu Management (CMM) demos to cycle menu customers.
- Delivers all individualized, custom CMM training and support when warranted. E.g., onboarding a large chain, working with unique customer requests not covered by generic training, etc.
- Works with the NRC Diet Technicians to develop the regional cycle menu(s).
- Prepares and delivers presentations on topics of interest for healthcare food service, including quarterly webinars and external speaking opportunities.
- Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field through networking and education events.
- Second level support for customer inquiries to the NRC hotline and email address.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Dietetics or a related field required
- Certification or License as a Registered Dietitian required
- Two or more years of previous food service experience in healthcare or corrections preferred. In lieu of the experience requirements, a proven capability to perform the essential functions of the job, as demonstrated by an equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant work experience may be considered.
- Experience with recipe and menu management software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A strong sense of customer service
- Good attention to detail
- Must have ability to prepare and deliver presentations
- Resourceful in finding creative solutions to food service problems
- Ability to work independently while also part of a broader team
- Bilingual in English/French an asset
- Food handlers certificate an asset
Equipment / Tools / Technology:
- Knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, email and internet software applications.
- Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Drive, Sites, Groups)
- Desktop or laptop computer
- Networked printer/copier/facsimile machine
