About the role

Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a Front Store Clerk/Postal Clerk to join our team at Pharmasave #421 in Regina, Saskatchewan .

Responsibilities

  • Provide warm, friendly customer service by greeting all customers and handling inquiries courteously.
  • Operate the cash register, stock shelves, tidy aisles, and support various front-store tasks.
  • Ensure store cleanliness and organization, including performing light janitorial duties and maintaining displays.
  • Follow store policies on security, shoplifting, lottery, and CBO ticket handling.
  • Monitor cash levels, anticipate change needs, and request pickups when necessary.
  • Develop strong product knowledge, stay informed about new items, and maintain awareness of store layout.
  • Merchandise products effectively using shelf labels, rotation, and facing techniques.
  • Manage allocated sections and notify buyers of out-of-stock items.
  • Assist in inventory maintenance and support reordering processes.
  • Support seasonal displays and promotional setups.
  • Handle difficult customer situations with tact and escalate complaints as needed. Report customer feedback and concerns to the store manager.
  • Sort and batch incoming and outgoing mail accurately and on time.
  • Assist customers with mail-related inquiries and services.
  • Verify address accuracy, postage, and packaging requirements.
  • Process transactions such as selling stamps, receiving letters, and handling MoneyGram services.
  • Weigh and calculate postage for letters and parcels; affix correct postage.
  • Operate computer systems for data entry and transaction processing.
  • Perform physical tasks including bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying as needed.
  • Remain productive between customer interactions.
  • Support the Front Store Manager and Pharmacy Manager with additional tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • This position is suitable for a student.
  • Accurate cash handling skills with strong computer and POS proficiency.
  • Previous customer service or cashiering experience preferred; retail and merchandising experience considered an asset.
  • Clear, courteous communication skills with the ability to manage conflict and solve problems effectively.
  • Strong multitasking abilities to serve multiple customers in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Professional demeanor, including appropriate grooming and wearing a name tag.
  • Physically capable of standing for long periods and performing tasks such as lifting and bending throughout the shift.
  • This position could include a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Criminal Record Check required.

Schedule

  • 7 hours per week.
  • The store is open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays and from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays.
  • The typical shifts will be scheduled during evenings and on weekends.
  • 3.5-hour shift
