Lynx Music is seeking candidates to fill one open position as a Floor Staff on a permanent, part-time basis. The successful applicant will undergo paid training and then begin regular shifts immediately.

Every room is designed by the sonic experts at Aercoustics Engineering and features its own distinctive theme. Job Overview
Floor staff are the front face of Lynx Music in all its various parts. You’ll be joining a team of musicians and creatives. Primarily you’ll be doing routine setup of our rental rooms and helping customers during their jam or recording session, but between the rehearsal and recording studios, paid parking lot, repair shop, our neighbours at the film studio and location recording office, as well as construction of more rooms on the second floor there can be plenty of variety. You should enjoy working alone or in a pair and a certain amount of autonomy.
Job obligations:
- Reference the online booking system to create a daily schedule
- Set up/reset rental rooms before, after and between bookings
- Greet customers and ensure they enter and leave rooms on time
- Help customers with their jam or recording session including grabbing rental/backup equipment and providing technical assistance for our rehearsal, recording and DJ equipment
- Take payments & log payment information, issue receipts/invoices, enforce payment policies, contact no-shows
- Field email, phone and in-person inquiries accurately, with attention to detail, and familiarity with prices, policies etc.
- Carefully intake/outtake customer items being picked up or dropped off for repairs and accurately update work-orders in Clickup
- Monitor the parking lot
- Other duties related to keeping the rooms in good order & facility in good order
Training, pay, & hours:
- Two paid training shifts where you’ll shadow and assist our floor staff to learn the ropes
- To start at least the following: Week 1 - Saturday and Sunday 9:30am-4:00pm. Week 2 - Sunday 1:45-8:15pm. Potentially more/different shifts - TBD.
- Opportunity to pick up extra shifts for coverage
- Starting salary: $18/h. Staff benefits include discounted bookings and some free use of rooms when available.
Background & qualifications:
- Audio/visual/music: Experience using PA gear, recording equipment & software, amplifiers, drums etc. Experience in a band or home recording projects absolutely count here. → Take a look at the equipment we’ve got by checking out our rooms at www.lynxmusic.ca.
- Customer service: experience providing a positive and accommodating attitude in a customer-facing role.
- Administration: experience taking bookings, payments, or other similar in a fast-paced environment requiring a strong attention to detail.
- Familiarity with MS word, excel/google sheets, dropbox
*If you are selected for an interview please note there will be a very small practical component to test your familiarity with the basic operation of PA gear and recording hardware/software.*
