Accounting Manager – Compilations & Tax

A well-established, mid-sized public accounting firm in Scarborough is currently seeking an experienced Accounting Manager – Compilations & Tax to join their team. The firm provides accounting, tax, and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of businesses and individuals. Position Summary:
The Accounting Manager will oversee compilation engagements and manage both corporate and personal tax files. This role involves direct client interaction, staff supervision, and hands-on file management from planning through completion. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical background, attention to detail, and a client-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and review compilation (Notice to Reader) engagements for small to mid-sized businesses
- Prepare and review corporate, personal, and trust income tax returns
- Provide tax planning support for individuals and businesses
- Maintain strong client relationships and act as a primary point of contact
- Supervise, train, and review the work of junior accounting staff
- Monitor and manage multiple client engagements and deadlines
- Stay informed on relevant tax legislation and accounting standards
Qualifications:
- CPA designation in good standing
- Minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience, with a focus on compilations and tax
- Proficient in preparing and reviewing both corporate and individual tax returns
- Experience with Caseware and Taxprep is preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Proven ability to lead client files and mentor junior team members
