We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Vocational Assessment Analyst to join our dynamic disability case management team. This role is ideal for a professional with a background in labour market research, vocational rehabilitation, and disability assessment.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for reviewing complex disability cases and conducting comprehensive assessments, including:

  • Gainful Employment Assessments (GEAs): Evaluate an individual’s capacity to engage in gainful employment by considering their educational background, work history, medical limitations, and the income thresholds defined by their disability benefits plan.
  • Transferable Skills Analyses (TSAs): Conduct in-depth evaluations of an individual’s vocational potential, identifying suitable employment options based on their functional abilities, training, and experience. This process follows a structured methodology grounded in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) system.
  • Labour Market Analyses (LMAs): Perform detailed research using sources such as the Service Canada Job Bank and Labour Force Survey to assess regional employment trends, wage data, and job availability. This includes direct employer outreach to validate occupational requirements and opportunities.

What you will do:

  • Apply a customer-focused approach aligned with our purpose: To improve the financial physical and mental well-being of Canadians.
  • Analyze vocational potential using available claim file information and tools such as online TSA platforms, historical labour market reports, and occupational databases (e.g., NOC, HRDC, OASIS).
  • Conduct labour market research to identify job opportunities, wage expectations, and functional requirements.
  • Liaise with referral sources (e.g., case managers, rehab consultants, legal teams) to clarify service needs.
  • Develop and maintain a robust resource base to support labour market insights and trends.
  • Prepare detailed, professional reports outlining findings and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate electronic documentation and case tracking.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal documentation including process documents, and education resources as needed.

What you will bring:

  • Completion of a post-secondary program, diploma, or certification in a related field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in disability case management or similar field is essential.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
  • Proven organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working with a range of web-based and computer systems, with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and digital tools.
  • Familiarity with medical conditions and terminology is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in the insurance industry is preferred.
  • Reliability Status security clearance - this is a personnel security status that is required before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website.

The base salary for this position is between $44,900-$74,800 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
