NOTICE OF NON-UNION VACANCY
POSITION: Manager of International Education Program
LOCATION: Catholic Education Centre
SALARY: $101-536 to $109-550
Reporting to the Director of Education or designate, the position is responsible for administering all facets of the Board’s International Education Program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
- Establish program plans, identify target markets, and develop effective marketing strategies and timelines
- Cultivate and maintain recruiting contacts locally, nationally and internationally
- Conduct recruiting trips to foreign markets and recruit students directly and through negotiation with agents
- Registration of international students, ensuring that appropriate applications are completed and that required tuition and other fee payments are duly made
- Provide student services including negotiating and securing third party billeting, such as Home Stay
- Supervise day-to-day operations of the Board’s International Student Dormitory including the management of the dormitory team members, recruitment of international students to live in the dormitory, facility developments, budget tracking, promotion, and help assist with the student experience outside of school hours
- Conduct a comprehensive, culturally relevant orientation program for new international students
- Collaborate closely with school principals and teachers to ensure international students receive appropriate academic placement, support and personalized course selection guidance
- Monitor student academic progress, attendance and engagement, and implement support strategies as necessary to address concerns and promote success
- Develop, manage and monitor the international education program budget, including strategic revenue generation from tuition and dormitory fees, and diligent expenditure control
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel internationally for recruitment as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree or Community College diploma in business, marketing, communications or related field
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in international student recruitment or related field
- Proven interpersonal, customer service and cross-cultural communication skills
- Well developed time management and organizational skills necessary to effectively prioritize and manage several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to lead others in a team-oriented manner
- Ability to cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with all internal stakeholders and external partners
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, take initiative and adapt to a complex and high volume work environment
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and have access to an automobile, as well as have a cellular phone to carry out the duties of the position
Considered an Asset:
- Experience in the K-12 Ontario public school system
- Fluency in one or more languages, other than English
