Job Overview
Sumas Environmental Services is a environmental company with a facility in Burnaby, British Columbia.
We are seeking a skilled Excavator Operator as well as a Skid Steer Operator to join our team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for operating heavy machinery to perform various tasks related to excavation works at our site. The roles requires a good understanding of heavy equipment operation and mechanical knowledge, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators and other heavy equipment to dig and move soil handled at our facility.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Collaborate with staff to coordinate tasks and ensure efficient workflow.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations while operating machinery on-site.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and report any issues or malfunctions to management.
Skills
- Proficient in commercial driving with a valid driver's license.
- Extensive experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly excavators.
- Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and maintenance of machinery.
- Familiarity with backhoe, loader, grader, and bulldozer operations is highly desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and supervisors.
After three months of full-time work with us, you are entitled to join our Extended Health and Benefits plan, although enrolment is not mandatory.
Pay is commesurate with experience.
