Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Technician is responsible for performing physical and in-process tests to ensure roofing products meet internal and customer specifications. This role supports the quality control of incoming materials, in-line production, and finished goods. The technician works closely with production staff, helps identify non-conformities, and ensures ISO 9001 quality standards are followed. They also assist in testing for product development and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Ensuring the quality of finished products.

• Perform physical tests on products (incoming, in-process, and final products) following defined methods and frequencies.

• Monitor product conformity on the production floor and report deviations immediately

• Record test results accurately in the quality system and maintain organized documentation

• Generate non-conformance reports and isolate defective products clearly.

• Calibrate lab equipment regularly and ensure instruments are in good working condition.

• Maintain lab supplies and ensure availability of testing materials.

• Participate in first article inspections and provide support during product launches.

• Collaborate with production staff to identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions.

• Provide basic training to operators on inspection and measurement techniques.

• Assist R&D with product performance tests and improvement trials.

• Support audits and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 procedures and quality records.

• Suggest process improvements to enhance product quality and workplace safety.

• Carry out any other quality-related duties assigned by the Quality Manager.

Your education :

• Completion of College level education in Quality Control/ Quality assurance with 1 to 3 years of field-related experience

OR

• 5 years previous experience working in Quality Control/ Quality assurance

Your Knowledge and Competencies :

• Knowledge of quality system management

• Knowledge of products and building roofing standards (an asset)

• Experience in an ISO 9001 environment or work in this type of environment (an asset)

Your skills and attitude :

• Communication skills

• Ability to coordinate, prioritize and multitask.

• Ability to optimize his/her load and organize him/her self around a weekly schedule

• Thoroughness and reliability

• Rallying spirit (involving other departments in their quality mission)
