Vocational Rehab Specialist (Hybrid - 6 month contract with possibility of extension)
The hybrid role requires to be in the office 2x a week to meet with clients
The Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist, reporting to the Vocational Team Lead, National VR (CTL), is accountable for achieving excellence in the effective, efficient and consistent execution of vocational services pertaining to the program/service they are performing.
Main Responsibilities

Ensure all practices are conducted with integrity and in alignment to Best Practice and CBI policies, including Privacy policies

Completing employment planning for injured or disabled individuals
-
Facilitating job search workshops
-
Completing resumes and cover letters
-
Conducting labor market research
-
Identify suitable job options and return to work plans
-
Marketing clients to prospective employers
-
Providing job placement support, career, and employment coaching
-
Manage and prioritize a caseload efficiently and effectively.

Utilize a client-centered approach to identify employment barriers, goals, and service needs to develop customized employment plans

Deliver and evaluate employment plans. You will work with clients, teaching them the skills required to research, interview for, and secure employment. You will focus on both practical and soft skills, including:

Build out employer contacts, create opportunities, and support placements. Working in close partnership with employers in a range of sectors you have researched and connected with.

Foster trusting and reliable relationships with both stakeholders and clients, maintaining open and transparent lines of communication. You will participate in team meetings and case reviews. You will perform regular, timely submission of reporting.
Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- University degree preferred (psychology, education, kinesiology, health sciences, rehabilitation etc.)
- Experience within the provision of vocational rehabilitation (employment planning/career counselling and/or job search skills/job placement))
- RRP, CVP, MCVP, CCRC, CRC, CVRP, CCVE or other related professional designation and/or eligibility to obtain designation would be an asset.
- Related experience with vocational assessments would be an asset.
- Candidates should have a strong understanding of the local labour market
- Valid driver's license and car is required to travel to various locations
WSIB/WSBC Requirements:

The education. You have post-secondary education in any field. Having one or working towards the completion of one of the following qualifications, would be considered an asset:
- Registered Rehabilitation Professional (RRP) designation through the Canadian Association of Rehabilitation
- Canadian Certified Rehabilitation Counsellor (CCRC)
- Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP)
- Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP)
- Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Professional (CVRP)
- Return to Work Disability Manager (RTWDM)

The experience. You have a minimum three years in job development, employment services, recruiting or human resources.

The knowledge. You are familiar with job development, job searching, local provincial labour markets, interviewing skills, workplace accommodations, and return-to-work programming.

The compassion. You exhibit a high level of emotional intelligence, cultural sensitivity, and an awareness of barriers to success, including learning limitations. You have experience working with clients with adult-onset disabilities and familiarity with the impact this has on clients searching for

The technical skills. You are proficient in Microsoft Office. You are able to effectively navigate employment sites and leverage the offerings of such sites to improve employment outcomes. You are comfortable navigating and posting on social media platforms for business in compliance with application and recruitment trends and practices.

The communication and relationship building. You have outstanding technical writing and verbal skills and can effectively work in a virtual service delivery mode. You can make connections with peers, leaders, and stakeholders. You can facilitate decision-making, influence without authority, collaborate across teams, and achieve results through effective negotiation and problem-solving.

The administrative requirements. You have a satisfactory clearance under a standard security background check. You have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
