About the Role
We are a high-performing real estate brokerage looking for a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to support our finance operations across multiple locations. This mid-level position offers hands-on exposure to full-cycle accounting, payroll, and budgeting in a dynamic and supportive team environment.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities
- Prepare and reconcile sections of the monthly financial reporting package
- Process accounts payable/receivable and bank deposits
- Reconcile Trust, Commission Trust, and General accounts
- Prepare payroll for approximately 45 staff, including source deductions and T4s
- Assist in creating departmental budgets
- Prepare EFT payment files and manage cheque runs
- Ensure timely government remittances and HST filings
- Support month-end and year-end close
- Respond to internal finance-related inquiries
- Recommend improvements to processes and workflows
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5 years of accounting experience (real estate or professional services preferred)
- Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance
- Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting and payroll
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with real estate systems (e.g., Lonewolf, Nexone, Skyslope) is a plus
