BorderPass is building the world’s largest global mobility platform, supporting students, schools, and employers as they navigate complex immigration systems.

We’re hiring a Senior Communications & Government Affairs Manager to lead external communications and support government engagement. This role sits at the intersection of policy, trust-building, and strategic messaging. You’ll help ensure that BorderPass is credible, clear, and aligned with both public-sector stakeholders and the people we serve.

You’ll support our relationships with government partners, manage high-trust communications, and help shape the way BorderPass is perceived across regulated sectors like immigration, education, and employment.

What You’ll Do****Government & Regulatory Affairs

  • Support our government relations strategy across immigration, labour, and education
  • Build and maintain working relationships with public staffers, agency leaders, and elected officials
  • Monitor regulatory changes and provide timely briefings to internal teams and external partners
  • Work cross-functionally with legal and product teams to align platform features with compliance needs

Communications & Public Messaging

  • Develop and maintain clear, accurate messaging around policy, compliance, and regulatory positioning
  • Write and edit communications for public, government, and institutional audiences (e.g. press releases, email, partner updates)
  • Collaborate with marketing to ensure all messaging is consistent, credible, and aligned with BorderPass’ brand and mission
  • Manage reputation-sensitive communications and high-trust narratives (e.g. legal changes, processing delays, regulatory shifts)
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to produce thought leadership, speeches, decks, and content for external presentations
  • Contribute to editorial strategy and coordinate communications timing across departments

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of experience in government relations, regulatory affairs, or public policy
  • Strong writer and communicator with a track record of working with Canadian federal and/or provincial governments
  • Comfortable navigating policy discussions, public sector stakeholders, and compliance frameworks
  • Skilled at translating complex issues into clear, practical guidance for internal teams
  • Familiar with immigration, education, labour policy, or compliance-driven sectors
  • Bonus: Experience working with startups or tech companies
  • Bonus: French language skills
