This is an exciting opportunity to work in a high-stress high-volume environment for an experienced social worker II in the Stollery Pediatric Intensive Care Unit/Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. The successful candidate will be highly skilled in team dynamics; multidisciplinary team rounding; collaboration and teaching; supporting families on a long-term basis and in maintenance and crisis intervention for chronic conditions. Experience in a pediatric quaternary center is a requirement. Strong communicator with well-established community resource supports and networks. Description:

As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work.
• Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

• Current experience in a Pediatric Intensive Care setting or 3 years' experience in a Pediatric Quaternary care setting.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with multiple physicians and agencies.

• Must be highly organized.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. Second language. Analytical skill. Well-developed written and oral communication.
