Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer (DevOps) to join our team and help build and maintain a secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-native data platform. This role sits at the intersection of DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and data platform engineering, and is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about automation, observability, and security. You’ll work closely with data engineers, architects, and security teams to design and implement platform capabilities that support data workloads, while ensuring best practices in CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud-native operations.
About The Day-to-day
- Design, build, and maintain DevOps pipelines and infrastructure for data platforms in a cloud-native environment (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for data engineering workloads using tools like GitLab, Jenkins, or CircleCI.
- Collaborate with data teams to support aspects of data architecture, including orchestration, storage, and compute layers.
- Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability for data pipelines and platform components.
- Partner with security teams to implement secure-by-design practices, including access control, data masking, and compliance monitoring.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Support high availability, disaster recovery, and performance tuning of platform components.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to technical design discussions and peer reviews.
About The Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or related roles.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP); AWS certification is a plus.
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, CircleCI).
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Dagster) is an asset.
- Solid understanding of cloud-native services such as object storage, serverless compute, and managed databases.
- Experience implementing security best practices in cloud environments, including IAM, encryption, and data protection.
- Familiarity with data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and data pipeline observability is a plus.
- Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Bash, Terraform).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across technical and business teams.

Compensation Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $120,000 and $145,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience that the chosen candidate possesses.
