Bow Valley College is seeking an Internal Digital Communications Specialist to join our dynamic Communications team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is eager to shape and elevate how we communicate with our internal audiences and the wider community.
Reporting to the Manager, Communications, the Digital Communications Specialist plays a key role in managing and enhancing the college’s internal and external digital communications platforms, including our employee intranet (College Connect), LinkedIn, and weekly employee newsletter (Employee eNews). You’ll be responsible for developing and curating engaging, brand-aligned content, managing our digital content calendar, and supporting a wide range of departments in sharing their messages across the college.
Your work will directly support college-wide initiatives and foster a connected, informed, and engaged internal community. You’ll be the go-to expert on intranet functionality, template development, and document management—ensuring that every digital touchpoint reflects our values of transparency, inclusion, and innovation. You’ll also help drive thought leadership externally through LinkedIn, sharing our college’s impact with the broader community.
This role combines strategy and creativity, requiring exceptional writing and editing skills, a deep understanding of content strategy and internal communications, and the ability to leverage data and analytics to measure and improve outcomes. You’ll also play a vital role on our Crisis Communications Team, supporting emergency messaging and safeguarding our brand during critical moments.
What You Bring:
You have at least 3 years of experience in a related digital communications role, and a diploma in Web Development, Digital Media, or a related field. You’re adept at using content management systems (ideally SharePoint), and you understand the nuances of content strategy, internal site navigation, and analytics tools like Google Analytics. You're also a skilled collaborator—comfortable guiding teams across departments, translating technical details into accessible language, and building digital communications that inform, inspire, and engage.
Preferred skills include working knowledge of HTML, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat), and the ability to create visually appealing graphics that enhance storytelling.
Join Bow Valley College and help shape the future of internal digital communications in an organization that values innovation, inclusion, and lifelong learning. Apply your talents where they can truly make a difference.
If your education was received internationally we will require you provide an international education assessment through IQAS, WES, or one of the other nationally designated organizations upon hire.
Closing Date: August 8th, 2025
This opening is a continuous (Exempt) position. Please note all successful candidates will be required to provide copies of government issued identification and proof of educational qualifications upon hire and may be required to provide an enhanced police information check.
