About the role

BlueBlood Steakhouse is currently looking for an experienced Lead Host/Hostess. Applicants should expect a highly systematic and deliberately paced fine dining service.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the host stand area, always ensuring organization and cleanliness
  • Possess a working knowledge of the venue (location, direction, events, policies etc.)
  • Effectively manage guest flow to maximize seating capacity
  • Know all table numbers and maintain awareness of which servers are in each section
  • Communicate with Managers and FOH staff during events to maintain proper guest flow throughout the venue.
  • Assist management and FOH staff in all necessary preparations and set up for events.
  • Manage the guest waitlist
  • Escort guests to their table
  • To lead the hosting team
  • Receive guests’ calls and book reservations for them
  • Possessive working knowledge of the venue
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager

Requirements

  • Minimum 5-year experience in customer service and fine dining restaurant experience considered an asset
  • Previous experience in a customer service position
  • Strong oral communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to maintain a level of professional urgency and momentum
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
