Job Summary
Reporting to Manager Special Events, Windsor Casino Limited, the Special Events Supervisor supervises the coordination and execution of Casino special events, and promotions.
Job Duties
- Prepares and reviews promotion, special event and entertainment proposals.
- Liaises with vendors and agents regarding products for various events and promotions.
- Supervises the coordination of special events, promotions, and tournaments.
- Communicates with other departments to provide information on upcoming events and secure assistance.
- Prepares and sends out notifications and details of events and promotions to departments on property.
- Inputs requisitions for Engineering, Purchasing, Banquets, IT, Multimedia, Advertising, and liaises with the respective departments regarding requests for event and promotion set-up, and tracks the receipt of requisitions.
- Prepares and creates system programs for use in promotional draws and events. Submits program requests to vendors. Tracks the receipt of all requisitions.
- Prepares pre and post event reports and files, and distributes to required departments.
- Prepares official Rules and Regulations for promotions, and submits to the Legal department for approval.
- Confirms and verifies event and promotional expenses, and submits reports to Finance and Casino Audit.
- Confirms receipt of all merchandise and inventory received for events and promotions. Audits, balances, and reconciles inventory prior to and at the conclusion of events.
- Confirms and verifies hours of work using the automated payroll system and maintains/tracks payroll information and personnel attendance records.
- Prepares work schedules, approves lieu and vacation requests and addresses staffing issues.
- Trains, develops, orientates, schedules, evaluates, disciplines and interviews for new and existing staff.
- Complies with Windsor Casino Limited policies and procedures.
- Performs any and all related tasks as assigned by management.
- Upholds the highest standard of internal and external customer service at all times.
Job Qualifications
- Equivalent to a College diploma in Marketing or a related field.
- Minimum of three years supervisory experience in a hospitality environment related to Event Planning/Promotions or experience deemed acceptable by Windsor Casino Limited.
- Knowledge of word processing applications, spread-sheeting applications, and industry related software applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to obtain a Gaming Employee License.
- Physical Demands: Physical effort requiring manual dexterity is frequently required. (i.e. between 25% and 75% of time on the job)
- Must be available to work all shifts.
- Must be able to be on call
- Must possess a good attendance record as stipulated in the Casino Windsor Non-Union Attendance Management Policy. Anyone with over 5 occurrences will not be considered.
