Kent is looking for Mechanical / Rotating Equipment Commissioning Lead to support the team on SJLNG Project, remote work with site visits during preparation & planning, followed by site based role in St John, NB.
Skills and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Supports the Pre-Commissioning Manager and interfaces with PE’s , CMT, MC, Start-Up, and Operations personnel on discipline specific issues.
- Direct supervisor of Mechanical Commissioning techs.
- Supervise Mechanical & Piping pre-commissioning execution work as directed.
- Communicates with the Commissioning lead for technical support.
- Create RFI’s first line content in the manner of technical field question.
- Accept and or sign onto permits, JSA, FLRA’s, toolbox talks in the capacity of front-line user.
- Field verification of punch list completion and signing off in systems completion database as required.
- Supervision and daily progress reporting of commissioning B check sheets in a technical and legible manner.
- Ability to interpret procedure, drawings and have good understanding of PFD, P&ID, SLD,etc as well as the ability to reconcile and apply best in class working practices.
- Demonstrated experience in commissioning rotating equipment (e.g., pumps, compressors, motors), static equipment (e.g., vessels, exchangers, heaters), and first-time system operations.
- Provide competent supervision of discipline commissioning technicians in the commissioning and function testing of plant, equipment, and systems, and in accordance with project technical specifications
- Review applicable discipline commissioning technical documentation/procedures and support safe execution of discipline commissioning work scope in accordance with project requirements, specifications, and schedule
- Actively participate in dynamic commissioning test runs of major equipment and assess equipment performance and Coordination with vendors and subcontractors during commissioning activities
- Lead and manage a team of mechanical commissioning technicians, providing guidance and direction.
- Knowledge of escorting and providing field support for commissioning vendors as required.
- In-depth understanding of mechanical commissioning regulations, permit-to-work systems, and LOTO practices.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:
- Engineering Degree and/or technical diploma and 15+ years of Project Completion, Operations and electrical commissioning and startup experience.
- Established track record in supervision of large teams through Mechanical Completion, Commissioning, Start Up and initial plant operations.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical static and rotating equipment, test equipment and process plant.
- In depth knowledge of Mechanical/Piping field tasks within requirements of project permitting, isolations, zero energy states and full compliance with CSU and Safe Working practices, methods and processes including JSA’s / FLRA’s / Toolbox talks etc.
- Strong understanding of work planning, scheduling and tracking.
- Exposure to Oil Company practices, processes, and expectations with respect to Systems Completion, Preservation, Commissioning and Start Up operations.
Communication:
- Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.
Behavior/ Core Competencies:
- Proven strong technical skills in discipline subject matter.
- Demonstrated management and organizational ability for large teams with strong people skills.
- Demonstrated work ethic with delivery focus with strong organizational ability
HSSEQ:
