Job Description
Summary of Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Day-to-day management of Mutual Fund (MF) Operations, Settlements, and the Trading Support team:
- Process various transactions accurately in accordance with established guidelines and Service Level Agreements (SLAs); provide process and policy guidance when required.
- Apply knowledge of Fundserv, ISM, Prime OE, and ISD400 (advanced).
- Maintain high service standards by offering optimal customer and partner support; resolve process or operational issues within discretion and escalate as needed.
- Ensure document accuracy and alignment with business intentions, relevant rules, and regulations.
- Build positive relationships with customers, partners, and fund companies by addressing questions and concerns effectively.
- Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, processes, and procedures.
- Demonstrate willingness to cross-train and learn additional functions within the team.
- Familiarity with SIP/SWP, Multiples, Ticketing Application, NFUs, DRIPs, transfers, and rollovers for MF settlements.
- Support the team during vacations and take ownership of issue resolution by actively participating and sharing knowledge to increase task efficiency.
- Maintain a positive work environment and help identify opportunities while providing management with analysis of key process drivers, production gaps, and root cause of outages and breaks.
- Assist the lead and manager in investigating, improving, and redesigning existing processes and addressing pain points within the Mutual Funds Settlements and broker-side teams.
- Identify enhancements to operational processes and assist with the implementation and testing of new processes/technology.
- Review/update procedures, ensuring full documentation of all functions and systems.
- Drive continuous improvement of the current Mutual Fund Settlement model and SLA to enhance client experience and operational efficiency.
- Share knowledge and expertise within the team; ensure timely issue communication and promote strong inter-team relationships.
- Act as a brand ambassador for Mutual Fund Operations and the bank internally and externally.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Data literacy with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
- Quick learner with multitasking abilities and adaptability to change
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience (accounting, finance, customer service)
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or IFIC Course
- Analytical skills and experience in banking operations and financial services
- Tech-savvy with strong computer skills
- Advanced knowledge of Wealth Operations
- Strong knowledge of ISM Book of Record, Prime base/SMS, Prime OE, and Fundserv interactions
- Advanced understanding of Mutual Funds and Brokerage Environments
