Reporting to the Senior Manager of Development Engineering and Environmental Services, the Water Resources Engineer is respon
- sible for:directing, supervising and/or undertaking detailed review and analysis of all development applications from a storm drainage, water quality, overland flow and sediment control poin
- t of view;managing external consultants as it relates to review and peer review of Development App
- lications;preparing technical comments, memos and/or reports for various stakeholders including members o
- f Council;thorough understanding, knowledge and ability to use current stormwater management modelling software associated with design and analysis such as Visual OTTHYMO, HEC-RAS, OTTSWMM a
- nd PCSWMM;responding to various requests for comments and information from various departments, senior leadership, external stakeholders and members o
- f Council;developing, managing and maintaining project schedules/timelines, coordinate and prioritize required work of internal staff and external consultants
- /agencies;attending Council and/or Committee meetings as
- required;assisting with other miscellaneous projects/assignments as
required.

- al environmentdemonstrated understanding of Town of Whitby and Region of Durham Engineering Standards, Town/Regional Official Plans and Municipal Class Environment
- al Assessment;demonstrated understanding of Town Master Drainage Plans, Town Engineering and Provincial Standards and the
- Municipal Act;thorough technical and analytical knowledge and understanding of theories, principles, practices and processes related to subdivision and site plan design and approvals, including but not limited to storm water management proposals and solutions, Development Appl
- ications etc.;intermediate level computer knowledge and skills in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Outlook,
