As a valued member of our team, reporting directly to the Director, Parliamentary Protocol and Public Relations, you will collaborate closely with a dynamic group of Parliamentary Protocol and Public Relations professionals.

What You’ll Do
You’ll act with integrity to:
- Develop annual plans to identify and establish work projects and programs responsive to the strategic goals and objectives of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario.
- Employ innovative and impactful communications tactics and activities for delivery to multiple internal and external audiences via appropriate methods.
- Create and execute a comprehensive social media strategy, including managing and overseeing the organization’s social media accounts to ensure consistency and engagement.
- Create and manage marketing and promotional strategies to elevate the organization’s visibility, enhance audience engagement, and drive brand awareness across digital platforms, print, and event-based programs.
You’ll support our collaboration as you:
- Provide leadership, advice and guidance to the communications team as well as various internal and external stakeholders.
- Serve as the Legislative Assembly’s corporate spokesperson and media contact and cultivate relationships with journalists from media outlets.
- Manage the visual identity program and ensure internal communications adhere to brand standards.
How You Qualify
You demonstrate excellence through your:
- Minimum of five (5) years of recent, relevant experience in communications, public relations, or a related field, with a proven track record of working with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Successful completion of a university degree, preferably in communications, public relations, or a related field, ideally with a multidisciplinary focus that includes internal and external communications, social media, media relations and marketing.
- Proficiency in French an asset, especially in a bilingual communication environment.
- Demonstrated experience and leadership in managing comprehensive strategic communications.
- Superior writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with keen attention to style, tone, and detail across various formats.
- Experience as a corporate spokesperson with confidence in handling both broadcast and print media interviews alongside strong public speaking and presentation skills.
- Experience managing social and digital media platforms, including content creation, strategy development, and performance monitoring across various social media channels.
