Position Title: Program Manager, Occupational Therapist Assistant & Physiotherapist Assistant (OTA/PTA)
Status: Part-time Admin
**Hours:**24 hours per week

Salary: $52 per hour

About the Program Manager, OTA/PTA Role:
Under the direction and supervision of the Associate Dean, the Program Manager for the OTA & PTA Diploma will provide academic, strategic, and administrative leadership for the programs. The Program Manager will provide direction, support, and mentorship for professors/instructors to build, develop and deliver high-quality, relevant and engaging education in the field of OTA & PTA. Additionally, the Program Manager will support student success in various forms including student recruitment and retention, strategic enrolment marketing and student performance issues. Additional duties and responsibilities may include:
- Support & mentor new part-time faculty to integrate them into the college environment, at a level appropriate for a polytechnic institution
- Conducts initial investigations and begins the problem-solving process for disputes involving professors/instructors and students.
- Advises and counsels students to help them resolve problems and coordinates crisis management strategies for vulnerable students.
- Resolves student-related conduct and academic performance issues.
- Participates in external meetings as appropriate in alignment with the faculty’s strategic plan
- Provides the following support to programs within their portfolio: academic decisions, student registration, appeals, in-class conflict resolution, academic standing and progression for the fall semester, grade challenge paperwork, answer questions from prospective students.

Education
- A minimum of an undergraduate degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy is required.(preference given to graduate degrees)
Experience & Skills
- Registered Member of the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario or the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and will have been in practice for a minimum of five years.
- Previous experience in an academic environment.
- Previous experience in human resources, coaching, working with mature adults, volunteer coordination, outcomes-based education, flexible learning, Blackboard, Banner, classroom management, and/or accommodation/human rights is an asset.
- Experience with curriculum design and building is preferred.
- Excellent listening skills, verbal and written communication skills and an ability to communicate and negotiate with people is essential.
- Experience working on a team and with project-based work.
- Computer literacy essential; experience with software to support teaching, research, and administrative activities.
