Description Joining the All-Fab team as a Truss Builder, you will be assembling wooden roof trusses and floor trusses from pre-engineered drawings. A Truss Builder requires standing for excessive periods of time. The position requires the ability to lift a minimum of 25lbs up to 50lbs to perform the job safely. The materials that you will be working with include wood, hammers, saws, and other hand tools. This opportunity will be offered to the right person who understands the importance of always working safely and being an inclusive and respectful team player. Previous experience in building trusses is an asset, however, training will be available for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Works with a Team Leader to set up the workstation for each order as directed by the Team Leader
- Assembles trusses in accordance with the company procedures, standard work operating procedures and as instructed by Team Leader
- Regularly inspects and checks the quality of the work being performed as well as the quality of the materials and condition of the equipment; and reports any problems to the Team Leader
- Maintains a clean workstation throughout the shift, and especially cleaning up shortly before the end of the shift
- Responsible for using all equipment and operating all machinery in a safe, correct and careful manner, as instructed
Knowledge/Abilities
- Experienced Truss Builder (preferred)
- Able to use hammer & read tape measure in the foot-inch-sixteenth method.
- Able to read & understand work orders
- Verbal and written language proficiency in the English language
- Working cooperatively and supportive as a member of a team
- Detail oriented, accurate, safe
- Ability to prioritize and work productively in a team environment
- Strive toward developing new skills
- Actively participate in Huddles and offer improvement ideas
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Always look for ways to improve your department and yourself personally
We are hiring for day shift, all 10-hour shifts, hourly wage $21.00-$22.00 6:00am-4:30pm (Monday – Thursday unless overtime is required) We value our employees and offer a comprehensive compensation plan including a competitive salary and benefit package consisting of Life Insurance, Health, Dental, Short Term and Long-Term Disability, Employee Assistance Program, Health Spending Account, Pension Plan, and a great working environment.
