Our client in the professional services sector is seeking a Automation Test Engineer to work on their end client's digital initiatives.

Location: Hybrid 3d/week Mississauga

Duration: 9+ months

As a Senior Test Automation Developer , you will play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of test automation solutions for our clients. You will collaborate closely with development managers, test leads, and engineering teams to ensure the delivery of robust, reusable, and scalable test automation frameworks. This is a hands-on role requiring deep technical expertise, initiative, and a passion for continuous learning and improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and enhance test automation frameworks and custom test harnesses.
• Develop test documentation, execute automated test suites, and monitor results using modern application lifecycle tools.
• Build modular and reusable automated tests for web UI components and APIs.
• Drive adherence to industry-standard best practices in automation design and coding.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage, including functional, regression, and exploratory testing.
• Design and maintain CI/CD testing pipelines integrated with automation frameworks.
• Analyze and report test results; provide actionable feedback and recommendations to development teams.
• Contribute to internal tools and practices that improve automation capabilities across the organization.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Software QA or related technical roles.
• 5+ years of experience testing web services (REST/SOAP) with a strong automation focus.
• 5+ years of programming experience in object-oriented languages such as Java, C++, or C#.
• Proficiency with at least two automation tools (e.g., Selenium, UFT/QTP, TestComplete, VS CodedUI).
• 3+ years of experience with SQL scripting and relational database design.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Microservices, Docker, RabbitMQ, and MongoDB.
• Solid understanding of software development methodologies including Agile, Iterative, and Waterfall.
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux systems, shell scripting, and command-line tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to self-manage and effectively communicate project progress in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience designing and implementing test automation using the Serenity BDD framework.
• Familiarity with behavior-driven development (BDD) principles and tools like Cucumber or JBehave.
• Exposure to performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) is a plus
