About the role

We are seeking a Tax Analyst to play a pivotal role in supporting the organization’s direct and indirect tax functions. This permanent position offers the opportunity to apply strong analytical capabilities to ensure accuracy in tax compliance, enhance financial reporting, and contribute to strategic tax planning. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally with finance teams, auditors, and external stakeholders to evaluate and optimize the company’s tax posture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and prepare quarterly and annual corporate income tax provisions, including supporting disclosures for financial statements.
  • Perform detailed reconciliations and variance analysis of tax-related general ledger accounts to identify trends and anomalies.
  • Support tax forecasting, scenario modeling, and monitoring of tax legislation to assess potential business impacts.
  • Review and coordinate the preparation of corporate tax filings and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain organized records and documentation to support both internal controls and regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as a resource for internal and external inquiries, providing tax-related insights to finance teams, business units, and auditors.
  • Assist in audit responses and tax authority reviews, preparing data packages and drafting technical explanations as needed.
  • Synthesize tax data and research to deliver actionable insights and updates to senior stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and standardization of tax-related processes, ensuring alignment with internal control frameworks and compliance standards.

Qualifications & Technical Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • CPA designation (or international equivalent) required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in tax and financial reporting, ideally within a corporate or public accounting environment.
  • At least 1 year of direct experience in corporate income tax analysis and compliance.
  • Completion of advanced tax coursework (e.g., in-depth tax training or master’s in taxation) considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS, with specific knowledge of tax accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP; experience with data visualization or BI tools is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with strong capabilities in Word and PowerPoint.
