Business & Costing Analyst – Western Canada

Job Summary
The Business & Costing Analyst plays a critical role in optimizing pricing and supporting margin management across Western Canada. This position supports business intelligence, leads costing initiatives, and works cross-functionally with Finance, Logistics, and Marketing across BC, AB, MB, and SK.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Costing
- Manage pricing activities including FOB deals, blow-outs, wholesale price promotions, temporary price reductions, in-bond transfers, and permanent price changes.
- Develop costing scenarios and provide recommendations to the Marketing team.
- Monitor AWSM margins, identify issues, recommend corrective actions, and present findings quarterly to Senior Management.
- Perform WPP/RPP checks against BCL price lists to ensure accuracy of upcoming promotions.
- Analyze freight and storage costs and provide recommendations to Logistics and Marketing.
- Act as the primary contact for liquor board pricing departments and submit all price changes.
Finance
- Serve as main liaison with the Corporate Finance team for invoicing, A&P, pricing, margins, and chargebacks.
- Prepare and submit the monthly rebate file in a timely manner.
- Maintain agent contribution data in PAWA to support accurate budgeting and margin forecasts.
- Maintain detailed commission records and financial documentation.
Logistics
- Process purchase orders from MBLL and SLGA within 24 hours and monitor transfer lead times.
- Reconcile MB purchase orders and participate in inventory review meetings.
Marketing
- Support trade or consumer events on occasion.
Administrative
- Onboard new suppliers into PAWA systems.
- Maintain official price lists from liquor boards and suppliers.
Senior Management & Special Projects
- Assist Senior Management with special projects and margin analysis.
General Office Support
- Cross-train office team on key pricing, promotion, and commission processes.
- Act as backup for the Logistics Manager when required.
Job Requirements
- Education: Post-secondary degree or diploma in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or Supply Chain Management.
- Experience & Skills: Excellent analytical and organizational skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work in a matrix structure.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in MS Excel, including use of pivot tables.
- Other Requirements: Must have and maintain a valid passport.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Western Canada liquor board regulations.
Base salary commensurate with experience plus incentive bonus and health benefits.
