ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skill, Experience)

• Current Certification of Competence as a Registered Practical Nurse with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• RPN Diploma preferred.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Recognized OR course from a Community College or equivalet
• Minimum 2 years current OR experience (within the past 3 years)
• Minimum 1 year recent surgical experience (within the past 3 years)
• Knowledge of the principles of asepsis.

-Computer Skills - Intranet, Microsoft Office, Care Manager, STAR, Solcom, Risk

Monitor Pro.

• Practice level consistent with the full scope of practice as outlined by the College

of Nurses of Ontario, which includes but is not limited to:

• Evidence of the successful, administration and management of blood &

blood products

• Evidence of the successful completion and/or practice in processing physician

orders, administration of oral, subcutaneous, IM, suppository, aerosol and

IV medications, venipuncture and IV initiation and management

• Demonstrated adherence to the expectations of nursing practice at CKHA
• Member of RPNAO preferred
• Satisfactory Attendance
