ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skill, Experience)
- Current Certification of Competence as a Registered Practical Nurse with the Ontario College of Nurses.
- RPN Diploma preferred.
- Current BCLS certification.
- Recognized OR course from a Community College or equivalet
- Minimum 2 years current OR experience (within the past 3 years)
- Minimum 1 year recent surgical experience (within the past 3 years)
- Knowledge of the principles of asepsis.
-Computer Skills - Intranet, Microsoft Office, Care Manager, STAR, Solcom, Risk
Monitor Pro.
- Practice level consistent with the full scope of practice as outlined by the College
of Nurses of Ontario, which includes but is not limited to:
- Evidence of the successful, administration and management of blood &
blood products
- Evidence of the successful completion and/or practice in processing physician
orders, administration of oral, subcutaneous, IM, suppository, aerosol and
IV medications, venipuncture and IV initiation and management
- Demonstrated adherence to the expectations of nursing practice at CKHA
- Member of RPNAO preferred
- Satisfactory Attendance
