The Procurement and Inventory Manager oversees the full purchasing cycle for products at our clinics. Their primary objective is to ensure that each clinic maintains the right inventory level and that they are acquiring them at the best possible value. This involves developing effective, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, implementing procurement policies and inventory controls.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing and Implementing Procurement Strategies:
- Creating and implementing effective purchasing strategies that align with business goals and objectives.
Supplier Management:
- Establishing and nurturing strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery and quality.
Cost Analysis and Negotiation:
- Assessing costs, negotiating favorable terms with suppliers, and exploring ways to lower procurement expenses.
Procurement Process Management:
- Overseeing the entire procurement process, from identifying needs to placing orders and ensuring delivery.
Accounts Payable Process Management:
- Overseeing and developing a team of Accounts Payable Specialists ensuring that invoices are accurate and that suppliers are paid on time.
Risk Management:
- Recognizing and mitigating potential risks associated with procurement, such as inventory controls, supply chain disruptions, or contract breaches.
Policy Development:
- Creating and implementing procurement policies and procedures that ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
Team Leadership:
- Supervising team members and providing guidance and support.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and guarantee alignment with procurement strategies.
Key Skills:
- Strong negotiation skills are essential for securing favorable terms with suppliers.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary for analyzing market trends, identifying cost savings, and resolving issues.
- Communication and interpersonal skills are vital for building relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Knowledge of procurement processes and regulations is important to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Understanding supply chain dynamics is crucial for managing potential disruptions and ensuring timely delivery.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, logistics, or a related field is generally a minimum requirement, according to some job boards.
- 4+ years of experience in managing procurement operations, including sourcing, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships, is essential.
- Experience in managing inventory levels, tracking stock, and implementing inventory control procedures is crucial.
- Experience in multi-unit or healthcare operations is an asset
