ABOUT OUR OPERATION

The objective of Sanajiksanut is to increase Inuit workforce in all of AEM’s Nunavut operations by contributing to the development of skills and competencies of the Inuit population in the Kivalliq region. The Sanajiksanut Process is composed of 4 steps: Employment Information Session, Online Application, Pre-employment Training, and Employment. YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

The Maintenance Assistant reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and works in close collaboration with his/her team members, as well as members of the other departments. The Maintenance Assistant ensures goals and objectives are attained, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s company culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Work with and support mechanics.
  • Preform minor mechanical tasks.
  • Manage waste material generated by the maintenance department.
  • Maintain clean work areas at various maintenance shops.
  • Clean and prepare components for shipping.
  • Identify and label repairable components.
  • Operate mobile equipment to move material.
  • Perform basic inspections and report any issues to the supervisor.
  • Gather tools, parts, and materials needed for maintenance tasks.
  • Help maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.
