Manager, Accounting
Location: Toronto (Hybrid)
Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 + benefits
We're recruiting on behalf of a consumer goods company based in Toronto. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a key leadership role in the team.
About the Role:
As Manager, Accounting, you'll report directly to the CFO and oversee a Staff Accountant. You'll be responsible for full-cycle accounting, inventory accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance (including Canadian and U.S. sales tax), while ensuring adherence to ASPE accounting standards.
What You'll Do:
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports
- Manage compliance with ASPE and taxation requirements (Canada & U.S. state sales tax)
- Support external audits and liaise with auditors
- Supervise one direct report (Staff Accountant)
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support business operations
What We're Looking For:
- CPA designation (preferred)
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
- Industry experience in retail, eCommerce, wholesale apparel, or consumer goods preferred
- Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, ASPE and tax compliance
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a lean team environment
