Description The School District of La Crosse is accepting applications for a 0.937 FTE Assistant School Nutrition Manager at Hamilton Early Learning Center/SOTA I Elementary School. This position is for 7.5 hours per day, Monday through Friday, student contact days. Hours may be reduced or increased if participation is different from what is anticipated. Projected start date: August 14, 2025

REPORTS TO: Nutrition Manager, Principal, and Supervisor of School Nutrition Programs

Accountability Objectives To work in a school nutrition program following District policies, procedures, and methods. To cooperate with other District staff to promote the program’s educational values.

Essential Functions

  • Management of assigned school and community nutrition programs when the Nutrition Manager is away.
  • Training and mentoring of new staff.
  • Conformance to food quality standards.
  • Implementation of nutrition standards for meals, work simplification techniques, productivity standards, and safety measures.
  • Accountability for money collection.
  • Training of staff and consultation with other school professional staff, teachers, administrators.
  • Implementation of highest possible customer satisfaction.

Qualifications POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Specialized experience or education and training in school nutrition management required. Basic clerical and technical skills required.
  • Level 3 certification by the School Nutrition Association is required within 18 months of employment date.
  • Maintaining certification is the responsibility of the Assistant Nutrition Manager. The Assistant Nutrition Manager is a leader in the School Nutrition Program at their site and must stay current in their knowledge of school foodservice and nutrition best practices.
  • Due to the physical demands of the position, successful completion of a mandatory Job Specific Screen is required before employment.
