About the Role
DCM is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Controller to join its dynamic team. The Financial Controller, reporting to the VP of Finance, will oversee core financial operations including statement preparation, budgeting, cash flow planning, payroll, compliance, and audits. This role also involves supervising tasks, implementing internal controls, and offering strategic financial insights. Key Responsibilities
- Proven ability to lead, guide, and mentor agile teams
- Manage and reconcile bank statements and financial records
- Prepare monthly and year-end financial statements for multiple operating companies
- Develop budgets and analyze variances
- Lead cash flow forecasting and financial planning
- Supervise accounting tasks and support staff
- Generate and interpret financial reports to guide decision-making
- Implement and maintain internal control procedures while continuously looking for efficiency
- Provide accounting guidance and ensure compliance with government regulations
- Oversee payroll processes, including source deductions, GST returns, and year-end salary reconciliations
- Prepare compliance certificates and support external audits

Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar financial role
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA designation is an asset
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and payroll software (experience with Maestro and Simply Accounting considered an asset)
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Proven ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality work
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and positive team player
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Effective time management and multitasking abilities
