About the role
Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Senior Manager, Liquor Category & Operations on a permanent basis on our Food team. This position is a hybrid opportunity and is based out of our FCL Home Office in Saskatoon, SK. For the right candidate, we are open to applications across Western Canada to work remotely.
This individual will be responsible for the creation, development and direction of the key strategies, vision and business objectives of the Cooperative Retailing System (CRS) liquor business. What you’ll do:
- Lead store design, layout, and branding standards to ensure consistency and high-quality presentation across all Co-op liquor locations.
- Develop and execute liquor category strategies, including assortment, merchandising, supplier negotiations, and pricing to maximize profitability.
- Analyze market trends and POS data to adapt programs, drive sales, and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Provide leadership, training, and operational support to retail liquor store managers, ensuring regulatory compliance and performance development.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to set retail standards, support execution of system-wide initiatives, and drive continuous improvement in operations and profitability.
- Approximate annual travel of 20%.

You will provide guidance, training and mentorship to Retail Liquor Store Managers, Retail General Managers, and the Operations and Category Management Team. Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Business Strategy & Insights and:
- Have 8+ years management experience in consumer products retailing with a preference given to Liquor retailing experience.
- Have a University Degree with a preference for business/commerce (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
- Have category management experience/training and wine and Spirit Training (WSET) (both considered an asset).
