The location in Coosa Pines, (Alabama, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Purchasing Manager. This job is full-time permanent.

Overview: Reporting to the Controller, the Purchasing Manager is responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services, overseeing inventory control, and ensuring the smooth operation of the stores department. This role includes working closely with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and maintaining accurate records of all purchasing and inventory activities. The Manager is also responsible for reviewing contracts and ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and Delegation of Authority guidelines. Attention to cost control, supplier performance, and overall operational efficiency is key to success in this position.

Your Challenges:

  • Enforce safety policies, provide training and tools, maintain equipment within environmental parameters, and report any deviations.
  • Develop and execute cost-effective purchasing strategies, negotiate supplier contracts, and manage risk through legal and compliance oversight.
  • Oversee MRP-driven reorders, subcontracting, demand forecasting, and critical stock availability while balancing cost and quality.
  • Maintain accurate records in SAP, manage vendor/material requests, and optimize inventory using tools like Verusen; conduct audits and cycle counts.
  • Work with Strategic Sourcing, Finance, and Accounts Payable on RFQs, contracts, and supplier approvals; support audits and financial reporting.
  • Supervise one direct report, complete compliance checklists, review high-spend suppliers, and generate performance and cost-saving reports.

Your Skills:

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of advanced planning and managing multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Proficient in SAP (Procurement, Plant Maintenance, and Finance modules) and Microsoft Office; experience with inventory management systems is a strong asset.
  • Solid understanding of materials management and cross-functional collaboration in industrial settings.
  • Proven problem-solver with a proactive, efficiency-driven approach and commitment to continuous improvement.

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; preference for Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, or procurement-related roles, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
