Full Time Support Position

Educational Assistant & School Secretary

St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School in Spruce Grove, AB is currently seeking a half time Educational Assistant and half time School Secretary to assist students with diverse academic and social/emotional needs and provide standardized and complex secretarial support to the office and school.

The assignment is to begin August 18, 2025 of the 2025-2026 school year.

Salary range: $18.98 - $26.72 as per the Support Terms and Conditions of Employment.

Preference Given to Candidates with the Following Qualifications:

  • Experience utilizing strength-based, trauma informed practices
  • Experience working with students with diverse needs
  • Able to effectively deal with crisis situation; physically able to lift and/or protect
  • Supporting Individuals through Valued Attachments training
  • Mental Health First Aid or equivalent
  • Diploma in child/youth care, Educational Assistant Certificate and experience with Speech/Language Assistance are assets
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in a busy, team-based environment
  • Extensive computer and technology experience and skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with direction
  • Strict commitment to confidentiality of information and privacy
