We’re looking for a Transportation Coordinator to join our head office located in Vernon, British Columbia for a 22-month term. Our head office houses Tolko’s corporate services groups including Sales, Marketing & Logistics, Finance, Accounting & Credit, IT, Procurement and Human Resources.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
- 5+ years experience in transportation and logistics is preferred.
- A diploma, degree, or designation in a related field of study or equivalent experience .
- Proficient with MS Office.
- Superior organizational, analytical, interpersonal, communication and time management skills are required.
- Innovative thinker and passion for problem solving .
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced team environment while providing superior service to internal and external customers .
- Use of analytics to provide sound recommendations.
- Knowledge of the forestry and wood products industry would be considered an asset.

In this role, you will:
- Coordinate and manag e the movement of several modes of transportation, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of products.
- Act as a liaison between mills, shippers, sales teams, and reload locations to facilitate smooth operations .
- Monitor and optimize car supply, manage rates, and ensure compliance with contracts and regulations.
- Build alternative supply chain solutions that differentiate Tolko and yourself in the marketplace.
- Interface with external stakeholders , such as suppliers, carriers, customers, and regulatory agencies.
- Achieve specific budget targets and performance scorecard goals that are applicable to the strategic supply chain vision.
