Job Description
The Payroll & HR Clerk is responsible for administering payroll, benefits and remittances, assisting in the delivery of ED&I strategy, OH&S programs, safety procedures, and the JOHSC committee as well as providing administrative support to HR
This position champions a respectful, inclusive and caring workplace culture that aligns with the City’s values. The incumbent is a technical expert and a pro at building relationships at all levels of the organization.
This position reports to the Manager of Finance & Human Resources.
The Payroll & HR Clerk administers the full-cycle payroll, employee benefits, the pension plan and the payroll information systems (HRISMyWay/ Vadim). This position collects, verifies and processes payroll information, determines pay and benefit entitlements for employees, maintains accurate payroll records, and provides payroll information for the organization.
This position also, collaborates with the team to manage records for payroll assists in maintaining safety -related information systems (Sitedocs.) The incumbent provides support and assists in the delivery of OH&S programs including safety procedures and provides confidential HR administrative support.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

College diploma Business Administration or a related field supplemented by a National Payroll Institute designation (PCP, CPM).

Three years of experience processing payroll.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Working knowledge of best practices, technical standards and legislated requirements pertaining to payroll and employment standards.

Tech-savvy and proficient with computers, MS Office Suite, databases and payroll systems.

CPHR designation would be considered an asset.

One years of experience in a human resources capacity.
Additional Information
This is an exempt position annual salary range from $65,000 to $70,000 dependent upon experience.
